ABOUT FRASER

Fraser Orr-Brown, a Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) and Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA), is an Associate Portfolio Manager and Senior Business Advisor at Approach Advisory. Fraser is passionate about challenging the landscape of the financial services industry. Prior to his role in wealth management, Fraser worked as a public accountant, completing tax returns, notice to readers, and audits and reviews. It was during this time that Fraser identified that far too often many aspects of a family’s financial affairs are run independently of one another. The unification of investments, taxes, insurance, estate planning, and business planning is rarely considered, and the results of this has left an abundance of wealth on the table for families who worked so hard to attain it. It is of Fraser’s opinion that investments are only the beginning of wealth management and that a system needs to be structured for his clients to ensure the growth of their assets and optimization of cash flow, alongside the management of life’s inevitable challenges.

Fraser is also drawn compassionately to the devastation of family loss. When he was two years old, his father was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and quickly deteriorated to losing the ability to walk, then move, then speak. Fraser witnessed the challenges his mother was faced with as a single parent who received no financial support up to and after Fraser’s father’s death. Had strategies been in place, his family’s situation could be radically different today without having had to endure the many struggles that they were faced with financially. Because of this, it is Fraser’s goal to empower his clients to take charge of their financial life and set in place safeguards that can protect their financial future.

Outside of the office, Fraser enjoys cycling, climbing, reading personal development books, and spending quality time with his wife, son, and newborn daughter.
