Brett R. Valentyn is a Partner based in the Madison and Chicago offices of Michael Best & Friedrich LLP, where he advises clients on mergers and acquisitions and a wide array of other transactional matters. He supports both small-cap and large-cap buy- and sell-side transactions—ranging from private-equity add-ons to multi-billion-dollar public company mergers—and also assists entrepreneurs, early-stage companies, and investors through the firm’s Venture Best® team. Prior to joining Michael Best, Brett was a managing associate at a global AmLaw 10 firm. He holds a B.B.A. in Finance, Investment & Banking and Real Estate & Urban Land Economics from University of Wisconsin–Madison and a J.D. (magna cum laude, Order of the Coif) from University of Wisconsin Law School, and is admitted to practice in Wisconsin and Illinois.
