Brian Jacobsen, PhD, JD, CFA®, CFP®, CAIA®, CBE, serves as the Chief Economist at Annex Wealth Management. In this role, he provides strategic economic insights and leadership to both clients and the firm’s Investment Committee, shaping portfolio construction and investment philosophy.
Brian holds a unique academic trifecta from Wisconsin’s top universities: a Bachelor’s in Finance from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, a Ph.D. in Economics from UW–Milwaukee, and a Juris Doctor from Marquette University Law School. He also holds multiple prestigious designations, including CFA®, CFP®, CAIA®, and CBE®.
Before joining Annex, Brian held senior roles as a Chief Portfolio Strategist and Senior Investment Strategist. He also served as an associate professor at Wisconsin Lutheran College and currently teaches as an Instructor of Practice at Marquette University.
A frequent contributor to national media like CNBC and Bloomberg, Brian is also a regular voice on Annex’s “Money Talk” radio program. Outside of work, he enjoys outdoor activities, weightlifting, reading, and spending time with his family and dogs
