Greg Duncan is an M&A advisor serving as Managing Director of Murphy Business & Financial in Northern Virginia. He advises owners of lower middle market companies through critical ownership decision points, including growth, transition, and exit.
With more than two decades of experience across leadership advisory, management consulting, and technology-enabled commercial environments, Greg has worked with both early-stage ventures and established enterprises. His background includes senior leadership roles at Amazon Web Services, Pegasystems, and Booz Allen Hamilton, shaping a practical perspective on how strategy is formed and executed under real-world constraints. His work focuses on valuation clarity, transaction readiness, and the judgment required when ownership decisions carry long-term consequences.
Greg holds a Doctorate in Business Administration from Drexel University, with research focused on leadership behavior and decision-making under conditions of stress and ambiguity. He also holds a Master of Science in Information Systems Technology Management from George Washington University and a Bachelor of Science from George Mason University. He is a Certified Mergers & Acquisition Advisor (CM&A) and a Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA).
