ABOUT THOMAS

Thomas Carman is a Senior Managing Director at U.S. Capital Wealth, where he has guided clients through complex financial decisions with confidence and clarity since 2011. He focuses on two core areas: comprehensive retirement planning—particularly for oil and gas industry professionals—and exit planning for business owners preparing to sell or transition their companies.

A native Texan with deep roots in the energy industry, Mr. Carman offers firsthand understanding of the importance of maximizing corporate retirement plans. His family’s legacy, with his father, grandmother, and grandfather all retired from Exxon or ExxonMobil, provides him with unique insights into the financial needs of oil and gas professionals.

Mr. Carman holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) and the Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA®) designations. These credentials uniquely equip him to guide business owners through the intricate strategic, financial, and personal considerations involved in exiting their businesses. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Applied Economics and Management and a Master’s degree in Resource Economics from Cornell University. He also holds Series 7 and 66 licenses, in addition to a General Lines Insurance license.

Outside of his professional life, Thomas and his wife, Daphne, reside on the west side of Houston with their three children. They enjoy cheering on Houston’s sports teams and spending time with friends and family.
