ABOUT STEVEN
Steven Nootbaar spent eight years as the operational backbone of a Florida insurance agency. Working directly alongside the owners, he built the analytics infrastructure, managed compliance, headed customer service, processed commissions, and functioned as a rapidly-evolving Chief of Staff. Whatever the business needed, he did it.
When commission statements didn't match his records, he pulled three years of statements and audited each one. The net was over $1 million in unpaid commissions. Florida Blue paid before inviting Steven to meet their analytics head.
The agency grew to become the #1 Florida Blue General Agency, and the owners had a successful exit through acquisition, having built the kind of company someone would want to buy. Steven had been the single point of failure in that business for most of its growth. In removing that dependency from the owners, he learned how to remove it from himself.
Today, Steven works with founder-led businesses through ExitWorks, installing the structural systems that make the founder optional. The outcome is a business that passes a 30-day absence test without losing revenue, stability, or momentum. A company that's transferable on the founder's terms rather than left to chance.
