Meet Akili Johnson:
Education and Experience:
After completing an internship with Merrill Lynch, Akili received his undergraduate degree from Abilene Christian University in May 2001. with concentrations in Financial Management and Accounting.
His work experience includes roles as an Analyst, Controller, Lending Officer, Consultant and now an Investment Planner with an emphasis on investment management, financial advice, retirement, estate planning and business planning.
In October 2012, Akili was awarded the Presidential Award for Volunteer Service, highlighting his dedication to the community with more than 500 hours of community service within a calendar year.
He currently is a mentor for the University of North Texas' Professional Leadership Program and enjoys covering several topics on financial literacy.
Licensing and Designations
Akili holds both a Series 7, 66 FINRA registration and a Life and health license from the Texas Department Insurance.
He is a CFP candidate completing his Certificate in Financial Planning from Southern Methodist University.
To round off his educational achievements, Akili received an Accredited Wealth Management Advisor designation from the College for Financial Planning and other advanced designations.
Akili lives in Dallas, Texas, and enjoys serving, reading, watching movies, and participating in a variety of athletic activities.
Responsibilities
In this role, Akili is responsible for developing relationships, providing customized advice, creating investment plans and investment portfolios.
He delivers a unique client experience by asking insightful questions to focus on what matters most in the financial lives of each client.
He then conducts a series of assessments, analyzes financial documents while capturing the unique goals to provide a disciplined customized approach that creates meaningful investment outcomes.
