ABOUT BRETT
Brett Crowell is a Director and General Counsel at Atar Capital. He focuses on financial and tax due diligence and tax structuring for new transactions and provides Atar’s portfolio companies with tax and legal support. Prior to joining Atar, Brett co-led the M&A Tax practice at GHJ where he advised on both buy-side and sell-side domestic and cross-border transactions. He also founded and led the national office practice that developed and delivered new, value-add client services, provided internal tax technical support, and produced technical marketing materials. Brett started his advisory career at Armanino as a law firm management consultant then transitioned into a federal estate, gift, and trust tax specialist role. Brett holds a B.A. in English with a minor in Linguistics from University of California, Santa Barbara, a J.D. with a Business and Corporate Law Concentration from University of San Diego School of Law, and a LL.M. in Taxation from University of San Diego School of Law. Brett is a licensed attorney in the State of California.
