ABOUT CARA
Cara Gray is the founder of Good Morning Freedom, a consultancy focused on helping accomplished professionals and business owners navigate the identity and life transitions that accompany longer lives, changing work patterns, and major business milestones. Her work addresses the non-financial dimensions of transition that are often overlooked in traditional planning, including identity, purpose, well-being, relationships, and the evolving meaning of work in a rapidly changing, AI-shaped world.
Cara works with clients who are successful on paper yet increasingly aware that the next chapter of life requires more intention than default assumptions about retirement or exit. Through a structured, forward-looking process, she helps individuals step back, gain clarity about who they are becoming, and make more aligned decisions about what comes next, personally and professionally.
She is also the co-founder of the Business Owner Collective, a private, owners-only community created for business owners who want greater personal freedom while still running their companies. The Collective challenges the idea that life planning and business planning should be treated separately, helping owners align personal priorities, leadership choices, and business strategy so success does not come at the expense of health, relationships, or fulfillment.
Cara holds the Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA™) and Certified Professional Retirement Coach (CPRC) designations and is a graduate of the University of Southern California. She brings a long-view perspective to exit planning, helping advisors and business owners recognize that financial readiness alone does not ensure a successful transition.
