ABOUT MATTHEW
Matthew Smith is a Portfolio Manager and Private Wealth Advisor at Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management. Matthew works with high net worth families to create and implement strategies that include investment management, estate planning, and cash management.
Matthew was previously a Managing Director at the J.P. Morgan Private Bank where he most recently supervised a team of bankers, associates, and analysts that focused on wealthy individuals who owned and operated their own privately held businesses. From 2014 to 2016, Matthew was Market Manager for J.P. Morgan’s High Net Worth Market in Dallas.
Prior to his role as Market Manager in Dallas, Matthew spent 19 years in Houston. His experience there included roles in the commercial banking units at Wells Fargo and Chase Bank. From 1998 to 2004 he was the Development Director for Tondu Corporation, a privately held holding company involved in power generation, materials science and commodities.
Matthew received a B.S. in Business Administration from Trinity University and an MBA from Southern Methodist University. Personally, Matthew enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and four daughters.
