John Thies co-founded Email on Acid in 2009 out of desire to make email marketing better for everyone. Email on Acid grew to be an industry leader in email preparation, offering a comprehensive and flexible automated email pre-deployment platform for developers, marketers and enterprise organizations alike. In June 2021, John sold Email on Acid to Pathwire, a provider of email APIs and intuitive email marketing solutions. Pathwire is backed by private equity firm, Thoma Bravo, and with the acquisition of Email on Acid, Pathwire now controls the entire email lifecycle from pre-deployment through delivery.
John attended University of Colorado, Boulder – Leeds School of Business, and lives in Denver with his wife and son.
